Edward L.  Carter
Edward L. Carter, 79, of Perry Twp., died Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. He was the husband of Verna A. Carter, died January 1, 2016.
Born in Olewein, Iowa he was the son of the late LaVerne E. and Eva P. (Stone) Carter. He was a US Navy Veteran. Edward owned and operated Write Way Distributors, Mohnton for 20 years retiring in 2009. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, traveling, and being with his grandson: Austin. He was a member of the Shoemakersville Lions Club, and Vaux Lodge No. 406 F.&A.M. Hamburg.
Surviving are three sons: Edward J. husband of Beth L. (Frey) Carter, Ephrata, Ronald J. Carter, Sydney, Australia, and Michael J. husband of Lisa M. (Koch) Carter, Pine Grove; a grandson: Austin M. Carter husband of Kelly T. (Webber) Carter, Bath, Maine; a sister: Sharon (Carter) Middleton, California; and a brother: James Carter, Massachusetts. He was predeceased by a sister: Janice Carter.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in Zion’s Cemetery, Perry Twp. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home. For online condolences, please visit www.leibenspergerfuneralhomes.com
