Obituary for John M. Wahl Jr.

John M. Wahl, Jr., 50, Mohnton, passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 in the Reading Hospital.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late John M. Wahl, Sr. and Laura M. (Ulrich) Weist. He attended Schuylkill Valley High School prior to graduating from Hamburg Area High School in 1985. While attending Schuylkill Valley, John was a Berks County Wrestling Champion. He was a heavy equipment operator for Rota-Mill. John enjoyed sports and an avid Oakland Raiders fan.
John is survived by his children: Chelsie L. Wahl, Mohnton; Shannon L. Wahl, Sinking Spring; Abigail Bechtel Wahl, Reading; and Brandon M. Wahl, Wyomissing; and two grandchildren: Carter C. and Rylee J. Reber. He is also survived by three sisters: Rita (Werner) Krick, Shoemakersville; Donna (Werner) Gordon, Mohrsville, and Cathi (Werner) Mazaika, Mt. Airy, Maryland; and his nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by one brother: Ronald Joseph Werner and Jacqulyn (Werner) Kemmerer.
A viewing for John will be held on Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc, 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Relatives and friends will have an opportunity to share remembrances of John at 8:00 pm. Burial will take place on Saturday at 1:30 pm in St. John's (Gernant's) Cemetery. Procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport, PA 19533 to assist the family with final expenses.
