Obituary for Elsie R. Koller
Elsie R. Koller, 91, formerly of Hamburg and a resident at ManorCare Laureldale, died Monday, January 9, 2017. She was the widow of Carl W. Koller, died February 19, 1999.
Born in Jacksonwald, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Helen (Weidner) Hess. She worked as a knitter for various local knitting mills in the area, last working for Camp and McInnes, Reading until her retirement in 1973. Elsie loved to play bingo. Her family considered her to be a "professional bingo player."
She is survived by three sons: Wayne K. husband of Joan Koller, Reading, Gene C. husband of Liz Koller, Tucson, Arizona, and Mark A. Koller companion of Fran, Tucson, Arizona; four daughters: Patricia A. Koller, Hamburg, Judy A. (Koller) wife of James Davenport, Sammish, Washington, Jo Ann Koller, Hamburg, and Janet A. (Koller) wife of Michael Carbone, Madrid, Iowa; nine grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her canine companion: Remi. She was predeceased by a brother: John Hess.
A viewing will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Animal Rescue League of Berks County, P.O. Box 69 Mohnton, PA 19540.
