Obituary for Margaret G. DeBoeser

Margaret G. DeBoeser
Margaret Gladys Spatz DeBoeser, 82, of Penn Township, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family at Reading Hospital on Friday, December 9, 2016. “Peggy”, daughter of the late William and Nora Rhine Spatz, was the 5th of six children, born on July 4, 1934 in the family home. She and her husband, Charles J. DeBoeser, Jr., lovingly restored this home where they have resided since 1993.
Peggy was a graduate of Penn-Bernville High School where she was a member of the band, playing trombone. Throughout her life, she was active in the life of the church. Her willingness to serve others and her gentle nature touched all those who knew her. Within her church family, she served as a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, a Sunday school teacher and faithful choir member. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life.
She began her employment at Berkshire Knitting Mills and Western Electric Co. and later worked as a canteen supervisor for 28 years at Berks Heim County Home where her joyful and loving spirit was enjoyed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband Charles, Peggy is survived by her three children, Karl T. DeBoeser, husband of Catherine, Allentown; Craig D. DeBoeser, husband of Angela, North Carolina; and Ann M. Shade, wife of William Shade, Lansdale; and six grandchildren, Kara and Marc DeBoeser, Luka and Mara DeBoeser, and Hannah and Matthew Shade. She is also survived by her brother William Spatz and sister Janet Wertz.
Family and friends are invited to attend a traditional service at the Evangelical Friedens Lutheran Church, 537 N. Main Street, P.O.
