Obituary for Louise M. Strausser

Louise M. (Meyers) Strausser, 86, a resident at Keystone Villa, Douglassville, and formerly of Perry Twp., died Saturday, August 6, 2016 in Keystone Villa, Douglassville. She was the wife of Ralph N. Strausser, died June 29, 2010.
Born in Spring Twp., she was the daughter of the late Morris and Luella (Kalbach) Heckman. Her father, Harry Meyers, passed away when she was very young. She was a member of St. John’s (Gernant’s) Church, Ontelaunee Twp. She worked as a knitter at Berkshire Knitting mill as well as various other knitting mills in Berks County. Louise enjoyed gardening, taking care of her home, babysitting her grandchildren, cooking and baking.
She is survived by two sons: Randy N. husband of Deborah (Edwards) Strausser, Earl Twp., and Brian R. husband of Sherry L. (Long) Strausser; two daughters: Donna I. (Strausser) wife of Ronald R. Kessler, Leesport, and Dawn E. (Strausser) wife of Ralph E. Hoshauer, Jr., Windsor Twp.; sixteen grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister: Irene Davis, a resident at Keystone Villa, Ephrata.
Services will be held Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will be in St. John’s (Gernant’s) Cemetery, Ontelaunee Twp. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Louise’s family would like to thank the staff of Keystone Villa, Douglassville, and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Louise.
