Obituary for Robert E. Baer

Robert E.  Baer
Robert E. Baer, 72, of Shoemakersville, passed away in the Reading Hospital on Friday, June 10, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Bonnie L. (Ott) Baer. They were married on September 24, 1966 and celebrated forty-nine years of marriage.
Born in Mohrsville, he was the son of the late Earl M. and Margaret E. (Baer) Baer. Robert was a 1962 graduate of Perry High School. He was in the Pennsylvania National Guard, Hamburg, for six years. Robert first worked as an oil burner mechanic for Santilli Oil Company, Inc., Shoemakersville; and then worked as a sales representative for APR Supply Co., Sinking Spring, for over twenty years, until his retirement. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Shoemakersville. Robert was once active with the Shoemakersville Fire Company; and was a former member of the Shoemakersville Borough Council. He enjoyed going to camp, hunting, and watching sports. Robert especially enjoyed attending his granddaughters' activities.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Bradley E. Baer, and his wife Tracy, West Chester; and Jaimie L. (Baer), wife of Andrew Heckman, Shoemakersville; four granddaughters: Kyra, Jade, Delaney and Jara; and his mother-in-law: Frieda L. (Gehret) Ott.
A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home Tuesday 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
