Obituary for Mabel M. Marks (Bagenstose)
Mabel M. Marks, 97, of Shoemakersville, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 in the Lutheran Home at Topton where she resided for six years. She was the wife of Arthur S. Marks, who died December 2, 1985.
Born in Tilden Twp., she was the daughter of the late Francis and Stella (Kauffman) Bagenstose. Mabel was a graduate of Perry High School. She worked for 58 1/2 years as a folder for Robert P. Miller Company, Shoemakersville, until her retirement. Mabel was a member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville, where she was a long-time choir member, Sunday School teacher and member of the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shoemakersville Fire Company.
Mabel is survived by one daughter: Janet L. (Marks), wife of Robert D. Kreider, Centerport; one grandson: Bryan Kreider, and his wife Joyce; two great-grandsons: Jason Kreider, and his wife Tah, and Bradley Kreider, and his wife Crystal; and one great-great-grandson: Jace. She is also survived by one sister: Fern M. (Bagenstose), widow of William K. Baer, Shoemakersville.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am from St. Luke's Church, Fifth and Franklin Streets, Shoemakersville. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held at the church Wednesday 10:00 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Lutheran Home at Topton, 1 S. Home Avenue, Topton, PA 19562.
