Obituary for Ruth N. Wessner (Breininger)

Ruth N. Wessner, 104, of Hamburg, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 in the Laurel Center where she resided since 2010. She was the wife of John W. Wessner, who died March 23, 1983.
Born in Seipstown, Lehigh County, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Mary (Rupp) Breininger. She worked as a sewing machine operator for Miller Underwear Company, Shoemakersville, retiring in 1973. Ruth was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg. She was a member of the Hamburg Senior Citizens and the Widows and Widowers Club. Ruth enjoyed gardening, walking, and her cats.
Ruth is survived by two sons: Kermit R. Wessner, husband of Marjorie M. (Kline) Wessner, Annville; and Paul H. "Butch" Wessner, East Brunswick Twp.; one daughter: Mary A. (Wessner), wife of Theodore A. High, Exeter Twp.; seven grandchildren: Ida Rakowski, Kristen Eisenhour, Renee Bezpalko, Nicole Messner, Troy High, Jaime High, and Brett Wessner; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister: Lillian (Breininger) Folk, in Lehigh County. Ruth was predeceased by eleven brothers and sisters.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Wednesday 9:30 to 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 99 Church Street, Hamburg, PA 19526.
