June E. Leibensperger, 72, of Shoemakersville, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 in St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the wife of Carl H. "Red" Leibensperger. They were married on March 14, 1964 and celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Elda P. (Becker) Ritter. She was a 1961 graduate of Perry High School. For fifty-two years, June worked with her husband at their business, Shoemakersville Press. She was a dedicated member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville, and would do anything for her church. June taught Sunday School for 35 years; current president of DORCAS, a position she held for 40 years; president for 35 years of Church Mouse Nursery School; and member of the church board for 20 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking and sewing; and she especially loved her grandkids.
Surviving in addition to her husband is one son: Kevin C. Leibensperger, husband of Stacy M. Leibensperger, Shoemakersville; two grandchildren: Ashley and Eric; and one brother: Glenn Ritter, husband of Dolores Ritter, State College.
Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held in the church on Friday 9:30 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. Luke's Church Memorial Fund, Fifth and Franklin Streets, Shoemakersville, PA 19555.
