Edna G. Machemer, 93, formerly of Leesport, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in ManorCare, Laureldale. She previously resided at Hearthstone at Maidencreek. She was the wife of David E. Machemer, who died November 21, 2008.
Born in Ontelaunee Twp., she was the daughter of the late Charles D. and Jennie B. (Kramer) Gibson. Edna was a 1940 graduate of Ontelaunee Vocational School. She worked as a sewing machine operator for Diener's Knitting Mill, Leesport. Edna was an active member and former church organist of Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Leesport. Her life revolved around the church. It was the center of her existence.
Edna is survived by one sister: Ruth M. (Gibson), wife of Warren R. Seip, Muhlenberg Twp.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven siblings.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 102 Apple Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Leesport Cemetery.
