Obituary for Eleanor E. Rubright (Reider)

Eleanor E. Rubright, 89, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, September 23, 2015 in her residence. She was the wife of Norman A. Rubright. They were married November 12, 1943 and celebrated 71 years of marriage.
Born in Oley, she was the daughter of the late M. Kenneth and Edith (Steffie) Reider. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. Eleanor worked as a cashier at the former Silco, Hamburg, later working 24 years as a cashier at the former Fryer’s 5&10 Store, Hamburg. Eleanor was a member of the Hamburg, Shoemakersville, and Laureldale Senior Citizens, and the Rain & Shine Camping Club. She enjoyed her family, knitting, and ballroom dancing. Norman and Eleanor were very proud that they won a dancing contest on a cruise ship.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons: Ronald N. Rubright companion of Joan L. Giering, Allentown; Brian L. husband of Melanie J. (Trexler) Rubright, Leesport; and a daughter: Norma J. Rubright wife of Carol A. Golbey, Mohrsville. Eleanor is also survived by 2 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother: James K. Reider.
Services will be held Monday, September 28, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc. 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg, PA 19526 (off street parking in rear).
